Flowpacks

Flowpacks, or flowwraps, are 3-seals packets; sealed on top, bottom and centre back (fin-seal). Ideal for flat and 3D content (small toys, candy). EDIS has 20 horizontal hot-sealing machines. We also offer bandoleer wrapping (flowpacks on string).

Dimensions

Min. wrap sizes 35 x 40 mm. with content 35 x 20 mm.
Max. wrap sizes 260 x 380 mm. with content 260 x 350 mm.

Typical materials

 

Metallised films

Most commonly used are 30 micron monofilms or 40 micron sandwich laminates. In general these materials can be used with food contact. All metallised films can be printed.

Transparent polypropylene

Commonly used in 30 micron but available in other thicknesses (and in white). In general used for food-promotions (in contact with food) depending on the type of contact and food. Printable on outside and inside.

Holographic films

Similar to above described metallised films but with a holographic pattern. Very original! Could be used for food promotions.

Paper with a polythene coating

Paper 55 gr. treated for hot-sealing, white or printed. Original look and touch, in general not ideal for food promotions.

Food grade films

EDIS offer various types of films that are guaranteed odour and seal proof. Most commonly used is PE30+PET12 (42 micron laminate) but also Mobil films or aluminium laminated are available. Apart from the materials used, EDIS adapts specific food safe production methods. See quality.

4-seals packets

Flat packets, traditionally used as stickers packets, are cold-sealed along all four sides (top, bottom, left and right). Ideal for flat content (stickers, cards, tattoos, etc.). EDIS has 16 double channel cold-sealing machines.

Typical materials

 

Paper

55 gr. paper with cold-seal treatment is the most commonly used material for these packets. Paper can be white or printed. Not suggested for direct food contact.

Pergamin paper

Slightly transparent white grease-proof paper, used for food contact depending on the type of contact and food. Not printable.

Transparent polypropylene

Most commonly used in 30 micron but also available in other thicknesses. In general polypropylene can be used for food contact depending on the type of contact and food. Printable.

Food grade film

A guaranteed odour barrier material BOPP20+PET12 is available for this packing method. Also printable (on the inside). Apart from the materials used EDIS adapts specific food safe production methods. See quality.

Holographic paper and films

Holographic patterns transferred onto paper packaging material or in film. Also printable.

Aluminium paper

A very attractive and shiny alternative to holographic paper or Pantone silver printing.

Shaped packets

A fun alternative to the usual square or rectangular packet. We can now die-cut 4-seals packets to various shapes of your choice.
